Clearwater River Steelhead Fishing |  Snake River Guide Service provides custom guided fishing on Idaho's Clearwater River.
Clearwater River Steelhead fishing draws anglers into Idaho each year. They come hopeful in finding one of the famous B-Run steelhead. These bulked up fish spend at least two years in the ocean before making their trek into Idaho. This uncrowded river is not known for the large numbers of available fish but the size and strength of the steelhead.

During their extra years in the ocean they gain the size that makes them true trophies.

Average B-Run Steelhead run from about 12 lbs to 15 lbs with the occasional  fish going to 20 lbs or more. It is not uncommon for these larger fish to be caught...It is not something that happens every day but often enough that at any time a fisher could experience the catch of a life time.

Steelhead fishing does become more of a challenge as the water gets winter cold. The bite becomes very soft and patience is the key. For those who brave the winter months, they are rewarded with fewer people on the river and fish that have been less disturbed.  Many anglers find this their favorite period of the steelhead season. The fish are still strong and have the ability to test any angler.

The months of September through February are prime producing months for B-Run steelhead. The weather in the Lewis-Clark area tends to be relatively mild throughout the winter and there are generally no breaks in fishing due to river icing. Some of the best fishing occurs late in the year when the fish are holding in the deeper holes.

Snake River Guide Service invites you  to come fish with us. We pride ourselves in providing a truly custom fishing experience. Our goal is to make your trip something beyond the usual. No mixed groups, attention to detail and guides that work hard to make your experience memorable.

We feel that keeping our clients numbers between 2 and 5 per boat is ideal for a the best possible fishing experience.  Occasionally we will fish 6 people but that is at a clients request.

Our Clearwater boats have been designed to be true fishing platforms, stable and comfortable but also convenient for the fisher.
