Clearwater River Steelhead fishing guide.

The months of September through March are consistent producing months. The weather in the Lewis-Clark area tends to be relatively mild throughout the winter, and there are generally no breaks in fishing due to river icing. Some of the best fishing occurs late in the year when the fish are holding in the deeper flows.

Snake River Guide Service invites you  to come fish our little piece of the world. We pride ourselves in providing a truly custom fishing experience. No mixed groups ever and you'll never be fishing in large groups.

We feel that keeping our clients numbers between 2 and 5 per boat is ideal for a the best possible fishing experience.  Occasionally we will fish 6 people but that is at a clients request. Our Guides are truly qualified people who want to make your experience the very best.

Our Clearwater boats have been designed to be true fishing platforms, stable and comfortable but also convenient for the fisher.

This could be your steelhead adventure of a lifetime.
Clearwater River Steelhead fishing draws anglers into Idaho each year. They come hopeful in finding one of the famous B-Run steelhead. These bulked up fish spend at least two years in the ocean before making their trek into Idaho. During those extra years they gain the size that makes them true trophies.

Average B-Run Steelhead run from about 12 lbs to 15 lbs, with the occasional  fish going to 20 lbs or more. It is not uncommon for these larger fish to be caught...It is not something that happens every day but often enough that at any time a fisher could experience the catch of a life time.

Steelhead fishing does become more of a challenge as the water gets winter cold. The bite becomes very soft and patience is the key. For those who brave the winter months, they are rewarded with fewer people on the river and fish that have been less disturbed.  Many anglers find this their favorite time to fish.
Let us be your fishing guide for these beautiful, Idaho steelhead.
