Trophy Strugeon trips on the Snake River- The lower Hells Canyon area provides a great fishing experience

Snake River Guide Service is now taking reservations for spring and summer trophy sturgeon fishing on the Snake
River - Lower Hells Canyon area of Washington and Idaho.

We also do fall and winter steelhead trips on Idaho's Clearwater River and the Snake River in Washington.

Clearwater River has world class Steelhead fishing. The large B-Run fish are what anglers from throughout the country come to Idaho with the hope of catching.  This river also has good Trout and White Fish fishery.
The Clearwater is suitable for most types of fishing. This includes Fly fishing, jig and bobber, spinner or bait fishing. This river is very shallow during the late summer months with increased flows in the fall and winter after the seasonal monsoons start. The Clearwater also lives up to it's name..it is extremely clear which adds to the challenge of steelhead fishing.
Visit this site's new section for fishing tips and articles. Our service is providing something new for the readers and hope inland northwest anglers find our articles useful.
This year we are  going back to owner run trips only.  Our regular clients have always liked that and the new ones we are acquiring will be assured of only the best possible professional treatment.

Spring and summer lunches will be customized for each group and will be a pleasant surprise for our guests.

We are also changing our menu for winter. Back to homestyle with a hot option is being offered during the cold weather steelhead season trips. A hot lunch is a great treat during chilly weather trips.
Snake River Guide Service has been providing guided fishing trips on the Snake River since the mid 1990's and a licensed outfitter on the Clearwater since 2000.  We are one of the oldest operators on the lower Clearwater River today and a  specialist in sturgeon fishing on the Snake River.
.
During these years we have established ourselves as a premier service. The fishing trip is always about you and providing a quality experience.

General timetable for fishing

SPRING CHINOOK: April and May
STURGEON and CATFISH: March through September
SMALLMOUTH BASS and TROUT: April through September
Snake River is a moderate sized river with flows that are controlled by the upriver Hells Canyon dam complex as well as the Salmon and Imnaha Rivers that drain into the main stem Snake. This scenic river has numerous rapids and is a play ground for the gentle giants, White Sturgeon. The Snake also has some excellent Smallmouth Bass fishing both in numbers and some truly trophy fish, as well as great winter steelhead fishing!  The Snake River and it's unique history and the magnificent scenery and wildlife make this river a truly wondrous place for the outdoors person.
Snake River steelhead run is known for great numbers of fish in October and November - The Clearwater River steelhead fishery is world class and draws anglers from throughout the Untited States and beyond.  Our region has something for everyone.
Lake Bryan below Lower Granite Dam Fish Sturgeon and catfish.  This area provides excellent cat fishing and at this time some limited catch and keep Sturgeon fishing. Sturgeon within the size slot are available but somewhat limited in numbers. Catfish can usually be found in good numbers. These are fine eating fish. This region has limited road access with much of the area only accessible by boat. This impoundment has relatively little fishing pressure.
Grande Ronde River is another small river that flows through Oregon and into Washington.  There is great bass, trout and steelhead fishing in this stream. The Ronde is well suited to the fly fisher and for those who prefer bait or spinners. Summer Smallmouth bass and the winter run Steelhead provide year around fishing. Good road access along some of this river provides numerous places to fish. There are also areas that are roadless and can provide a nice one or two day float trip.

Idaho Salmon also migrate up the Clearwater every spring and depending on the year there is an exciting and popular fishery that takes place in April and May on the Clearwater River.
