Idaho Salmon caught on the Clearwater
Idaho Spring Salmon fishing on the Clearwater River -  2008

Salmon numbers entering Idaho in the past few years were mediocre at best but the 2008 Spring Chinook run may be exceptional,

Early predictions are for 269,300 salmon entering the Columbia River bound for upriver destinations.

  • Idaho rivers will see a large portion of these fish and expect to see fishing seasons on the Clearwater River and Salmon River.

This is an extremely popular fishery that draws local anglers and salmon lovers from as far away southern Idaho, Utah and Montana.
