The Clearwater and Snake Rivers provide some of the most active steelhead fishing to be found in the Northwest. Our service normally begins catch and release fishing as early as August, with regular seasons beginning in October.
These fisheries usually last through January and into mid to late February. March is dependent on water conditions and we book trips in this time period only if we feel the fishing experience will be a quality one.
The fish cought in the early season usually are in the four to ten pound range with the larger 'B' Run fish entering into the river in large numbers in October and November. These 'B' Run fish can weigh in to twenty plus pounds.
These big steelhead are headed for the Clearwater River in Idaho and offer a great fishery as they stage in the Snake River before entering the Clearwater.
Fishing methods vary from backtrolling, drift fishing to traditional fly fishing.
